Maryland Governor's Office of Crime Control & Prevention (GOCCP) Maryland

The Maryland Statistical Analysis Center is located in the Governor's Office of Crime Control & Prevention (GOCCP), which serves as the State Administering Agency (SAA), and facilitates the collection and objective analysis of statewide criminal justice statistics to support evidence-based policies and practices. GOCCP has developed the SAC's website into a one-stop shop of timely, relevant data for public safety entities and the general public. MSAC also provides information to the legislature through special reports, conducts surveys on a wide range of public safety issues, evaluates criminal justice programs, and maintains a database to track statistics on DNA "hits" in the state.

Updates from JRSA

Evidence-Based Practices Toolkit

JRSA, in partnership with the National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA) and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), has produced the first in what will be a series of "toolkits" on promoting the use of evidence-based practices in State Administering Agencies (SAAs). The first toolkit, An Introduction to Evidence-Based Practices, includes a briefing paper, an executive summary, and a slideshow. The slideshow can be tailored by SAAs to highlight their own efforts in promoting evidence-based practices in their state. Additional toolkits are currently being developed based on feedback from SAA directors.
